If you’re a fan of classic point-and-click adventure games, you’ve probably played LucasArts titles from the 1990s. One of my favorites is Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis was originally released on PC back in 1992. A year later, it was reissued on CD-ROM with full voice acting and digitized sound effects. In 2009, the “talkie” version was released as an unlockable extra in Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings for Nintendo Wii. It was also distributed digitally on Steam.
The game is set in 1939 shortly before the outbreak of World War II. Indy finds himself in search of the lost city of Atlantis. Meanwhile, the Nazis are about to get their hands on a weapon more dangerous than the atomic bomb. It’s up to our favorite fedora-wearing hero to sink the Nazi’s plans.
First off, I have a confession to make. I’m a huge Indiana Jones fan, and the adventure games absolutely intrigued me growing up. So when I learned that the classic adventure games were brought to PC via Steam over a decade ago, I had to check it out.
I also like to watch long plays of classic games on YouTube. So I immediately typed in Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis on YouTube to look for a long play of the game running on a modern computer.
And voila! There is a high-quality no commentary long play from YouTuber TheSmokingPhantom. You can watch the full playthrough below. Also, the game is currently on sale as part of the LucasArts Adventure Pack for $3.44. So if you want to try it out yourself, it’s really cheap!
