About us

A resource for people who stream, or want to

Setup guides, platform rules, monetization requirements, and gear that is worth the money.
Why This Site Exists
We are not a news site. There are plenty of those and they are better at it than we would be. What we do instead is work out what is actually true about the platforms people stream on, and write it down clearly.
Most streaming advice online is copied from other streaming advice online. Ask a simple question, such as what Kick actually requires before you can get paid, and you will find four confident answers that contradict each other. Some are years out of date. Some were never checked at all.
We check things against primary sources. When a platform’s own documentation contradicts itself, we say so rather than picking whichever version reads better. When a number cannot be verified, we tell you it cannot be verified instead of repeating it.
That makes our answers less tidy than the competition’s, sometimes. We think you are better served knowing where the uncertainty actually sits.
Who Runs It
Video Game Streamers is run by Brady, who has spent nearly twenty years working in tech and builds websites for the love of it. He has been a streaming fan for a long time and an occasional Discord moderator.
That is the honest version. He is not a full-time streamer and does not claim to be. What he does bring is a long habit of reading documentation carefully and a low tolerance for confidently wrong information, which turns out to be most of what this subject needs.

How We Make Money
01
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy something through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That never determines what we recommend, and we do not accept payment in exchange for a recommendation or for a place in a buying guide.
02
We also sell advertising, including sponsored content. Anything paid for by a third party is labelled as such, and it is kept separate from our editorial guides and recommendations. If you are reading a guide on this site, nobody paid for the conclusion.
03
If a product we have recommended stops being the right pick, we change the recommendation.
Corrections

We will get something wrong at some point

Platform terms change without notice and we will not always catch it on the day. Our guides carry a note showing when the information was last checked, so you can see how fresh it is.
If you spot something wrong or out of date, email us and tell us. We will correct it.
Corrections are not an embarrassment. On a subject where the rules move this often, they are the job.
