Nintendo surprised fans this week during the first Nintendo Direct of 2019, announcing a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening for Nintendo Switch. The game was originally released on the Game Boy way back in 1993.
GameXplain’s YouTube channel released a video comparing the Game Boy Color version – which is known as Link’s Awakening DX and features color, unlike the black and white from the original Game Boy version – to the just revealed Nintendo Switch version. Somewhat surprisingly, the Switch remake is loyal to the original.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening remake for Nintendo Switch is scheduled for a 2019 release date. We’ll have more Link’s Awakening gameplay videos in the lead-up to E3! In the meantime, you can pre-order the game at Walmart.
