YouTuber goes behind the scenes in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

Have you ever wondered what’s beyond the camera boundaries in popular video games? Boundary Break is a series from YouTuber Shesez that looks at parts of games that typically you do not see.

The most recent Boundary Break episode looks at one of my favorite games (and undoubtedly a favorite of many fans): The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. He plays The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D version on the 3DS and compares some of its secrets to the N64 build. For instance, he shows how the N64 version had untextured areas with 3D geometry that players were never meant to see. These areas were covered with 2D textures. The 3DS version upgrades these areas to full 3D textures.

Shesez also does several zoom-outs of various parts of the game to show you the impressive breadth of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. He pans out over the vast Hyrule Field and the bustling Hyrule Market. It’s an interesting behind-the-scenes look at one of the most popular games of the past 25 years.
