Twitch knows how important streamers’ monthly income is and wants to make sure that everyone can earn.
Twitch has announced that tiny streamers would be guaranteed a monthly stipend, encouraging them to keep making content. It has introduced a new initiative for streamers dubbed the Ads Incentive Program (AIP), which guarantees a minimum monthly revenue. The program addresses one of the biggest concerns of individuals who spend hours broadcasting content on the streaming site.
The AIP was designed to pay chosen streamers a monthly minimum amount of advertising money, according to the company’s blog post. Twitch will compute compensation based on the number of advertising per hour and the total number of hours aired in order to do so.
A very well thought out alternative
This initiative has been in the works for quite some time. Twitch has sought out to qualified employees and high-level streamers in order to develop a practical solution that would assist smaller streamers who are choosing to discontinue broadcasting due to a lack of monthly earnings.
Streamers who participate in the program for at least 40 hours in a month might earn $100 for presenting two minutes of commercials each hour, $300 for three minutes, and $500 for four minutes of ads per hour.
“Having a reliable floor of ad revenue should enable you to better plan for the future, whatever that may look like. We hope it’s an important step towards empowering creators,” Twitch says in the blog post.
If you’re a small streamer, or plan to make your streams your job, the AIP will go a long way toward solving the revenue problem. Although ads, to many people, make noise, this program seeks to create a sustainable income system through advertising, in the medium and long term.
