Streamer Spotlight is a series where we feature upcoming streamers. This week we are interviewing @jboogiedaboss. If you would like to be featured, follow us on Twitter @vgamestreamers and email us explaining what makes your channel unique.
What do you like to stream?
I am a big fan of Call of Duty. I have been playing it since the first Black Ops, but I just got into Apex Legends. I want to get back into WWE 2K. I’ve been playing WWE games since Nintendo.
When did you first start streaming?
It was 2016 when I got into streaming. I got me a USB-Live stick from Hauppauge and started grinding Black Ops and NBA Live.
What was your inspiration to start streaming?
Nadeshot, Hecz, and David Di Franco are my inspirations. I am a big OpTic Gaming fan. They give me the idea to try to go pro in Call of Duty and create a pro team, and David Di Franco inspired me to create content for YouTube and Twitch.
How difficult has it been to build a following for your channel?
It’s really, really hard. I hate to say it, but I spam my channel on Twitter and Facebook so I can get some fans, and it makes me happy when they come and stay. It’s really hard now since you have big streamers like Ninja and Dr. Disrespect.
How do you manage these difficulties?
I am a person that loves to talk and connect with people, and when I do, I tell them I am a streamer and a YouTuber. I promote myself at least 50 times a day so people know about my channels.
What do you do outside of streaming?
I am a father of three (Kiara, Derek, and Josiah). I repair computers, and I do music production as my main income. I’ve been doing music since I was a freshman in high school and been working on a computer since I was in middle school.
When can viewers most likely find you streaming?
My schedule is 10:30 PM – 3 AM Monday to Thursday and 9 PM – 3 AM on Friday and Saturday. I’m going to start jumping in Call of Duty money tournaments soon.
What’s your most memorable stream?
What short term and long term goals do you have for your channel?
My short term goals are more sponsors for my Channel. Right now, I am sponsored by Viper Gaming. They sell PC gaming equipment, and I’m featured on David Di Franco’s website, www.twitchtips.com.
What has been your greatest success so far as a streamer?
I got noticed by some big companies and got some great products from them. I am a Twitch Affiliate, and I love the fact that I can get subs and make money off of Twitch. It is such a passion and so much fun. I am trying to rebuild a Call of Duty pro team or a streaming team so I can have even more fun.
Is there anything else you would like our readers to know about you or your channel?
I want you to know that I am trying to build a gaming scene in Indianapolis. We have a lot of gamers that I am trying to bring together and build a loving gaming community. I have a lot of giveaways coming up, so come and hang with me and win some cool prizes.
