Speedrunner beats Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in under 2 hours

Speedrunner Claris beat Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in under 2 hours, setting a new world record for any percent completion of the game. This surpassed the previous world record by almost 10 minutes.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was released back in 2007 on the Nintendo Wii. It is a first-person shooter with full support for the Wii’s motion controls. It is the last game in the Metroid Prime franchise released to date.

The completion time of 1:46:52.600 – which is in-game time, not real time – is blazingly fast. The game normally takes almost 14 hours to beat.

By the way, the video is almost two years old now and the record still stands. I am just coming across it now and thought it was still worth sharing. Fans are seemingly waiting forever for Nintendo to reveal details of the upcoming Metroid Prime 4, so at least for now, these now-classic Metroid Prime games will have to suffice.
